Field Trip Highlights
After studying the interconnections of plants and animals around the world, our first graders took a field trip to the Woodland Park Zoo where they explored desert, rainforest and African savannah exhibits. Their trip was not complete until the children saw their beloved penguins; animals they had studied in depth earlier in the school year.
Second Grade Life Science
Our students study a variety of creatures as part of their grade level science units. In second grade, Life Science includes learning about the life cycle of the butterfly. This photo shows caterpillars in the Pupa stage.
